  1. Created a new branch in the git repo
  2. Migrated the code
  3. Fail – confirm the existing SimpleTest test suite reports no errors
  4. Additional task – Migrated test suite to PHPUnit
  5. Tested the deployment to a fresh CakePHP 2 install
  6. Merged branch into master
  7. Moved code into production
